Hello, I am Mrs Hughes and I am the class teacher in Mes Bach!

Welcome to our Nursery webpage, designed specifically for parents who are interested in learning about our approach to education. Our Nursery is an environment that is centred around play and exploration, where children are free to learn through their own experiences. Our approach is aligned with the New Welsh Curriculum, which emphasises the importance of holistic and child-centred learning.

We understand that the early years of a child's life are crucial for their development, and we believe that play and exploration are vital components of this process. Our Nursery provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills at their own pace.

Our curriculum is designed to be child-centred, which means that we focus on each child's individual needs and interests. We believe that every child is unique, and therefore, we tailor our approach to meet their specific needs. This approach is aligned with the New Welsh Curriculum, which emphasises the importance of personalized learning.

​As a healthy school we encourage children to bring in a fruit snack and water. Our lunch menu is balanced and nutritious, you can request a school menu to see what meals are on offer. Nursery receive their meal in the dinner hall and are supported by staff from class and by lunchtime supervisors.

​

We love getting outside in Mes Bach, no matter what the weather! Please ensure you always bring a coat and if you want, you may send in a pair of wellies labelled with your child’s name. Our mud kitchen is very popular!

As we have the youngest children in the school we always encourage you to label all clothing, you will be surprised how quickly things can go missing!

​

We are a Class Dojo school and use this to communicate with parents. We send home a code so you can join and see what your little one has been up to in Nursery. It’s always lovely to share these photos at home to encourage children to talk about their day.
